    Lcr 600?

    Hi guys,

Sorry if i had to put up another thread concerning the LCR 600...
As for my last tread, most of you agrees with the LCR 600 as a center even if your fronts would be the 602... i for myself agrees with that, as mentioned, better dynamics etc.

Q: what about "BALANCED PRESENTATION" and Timbral Matching of the system, specially that the room is SMALL. (12x8 feet). also surround to be used will just be DM 600. would'nt the LRC 60 be better in this senario? or the LCR 600 would still be better and the room size and surrounds would not matter at all?

    Thanks guys for any inputs..

    I run L/R 602s3, C LCR600, and SL/SR 600s3...

I didn't like the LCR60 when I auditioned, and if you have the funds, I think the LCR600 will serve you much better. Keep in mind, that a good deal of dialogue comes out of the Center, so skimping on it probably isn't the best... Unless of course you went with 5x LCR60, then that might present a better overall HT experience, since you'd have the same speaker everywhere...

    The BIGGEST (pun intented) issue with the LCR600 is that it's freaking HUGE. Also, if you plan to upgrade to the 603/4s3 down the road, the a LCR60 just won't do (;

The LCR60 is a better match for your room size, even B&W recommends the LCR60 for your 602's. I use the 602's with LCR60 in a room your size and it works great. If the LCR600 is better to your ears when you audition speakers, then go with it, but don't count the LCR60 out at all.

I run DM602/LCR600 and DM600 also. It's a fantastic combo, with my little Velodyne SPL sub. As Clepto mentioned. The only down side to the LCR600 is it's size (as you can see in my pics in my sig, I had a entertainment unit built just for the LCR600), but it integrates with the 602's much better than the LCR60, which I found was just too dynamically limited due to it's modest size. The centre channel handles 60% of 5.1 sound information, so it pays to invest in the larger LCR600 if you can manage its bulk.

I had the LCR 60 never liked it from day one the sound was to small for my taste, for the difference in price the LCR 600 gives so much more sound I would say double.

I think as a general rule, going for the best center channel you can will be better for movies, even if the match isn't quite as perfect as a "lesser" center. Now if 5 channel music was the primary purpose, you simply can't improve on 5 identical speakers.

i matched LCR60 to my 602s3..they sound good...
i have never set this center puppy to the max level since
5 or 6 is already good...and thats the reason i dont think i should
                upgrade to LCR600

I never actually understood why the LCR60 was 'recommended' by B&W to be paired with the 602's... The driver size of the LCR600 is much closer to the 602 than the LCR60... LCR600 = 6.5", LCR60 = 5.5", 602 = 7"

I would just buy the bigger one and tone it down on the receiver end. Always better to get slightly bigger and turn it down than to buy smaller and not having enough

I'm using the LCR 600 with 604's and I'm very happy with it.

Im using the LCR 600 wih my 703"s as the HTM7 I was told is not robust enough to handle Movies (who knows). Bottom line is the LCR 600 is a very good center channel and works nicely even with the 703's ....

                              LCR-600 as surround speaker
                              by bartk
Is an LCR-600 usable as surround speaker ? reason I ask is that, in my current setup I'm using 1 LCR-600 as center back. What I was thingking of doing is to move my current surrounds (DM602's) to the rear, and getting an additional LCR-600 to be used as surround.

                              other option would be...

Sorry if this has been discussed elsewhere but the search function doesn't seem to work.

They finally arrived... a full set (LCR) of LCR 600 S3 speakers. They're all set up and the sound is fine so far but the owner's manual leaves me wondering something about my setup.

                              Hi everyone,

I'm really new to this forum and im am about to go with the B&W route. I have been reading diff. threads out in here specifically for the 600 range.
My plans are to go with DM 602 s3, LCR 60 or maybe 600 depending on your replies w/ probably the 600 for surrounds....

Hi, I just upgrade my centre speaker from Mission 75c to the B&W LCR600 S3, and I'm having some problems with it, there is some distortion on certain dialogue that on my old Mission does not exists. I've changed to another LCR600 from the seller but the problem was still there. We tested the 2 LCR...
