jazz music and B&W: a perfect match

Today I picked up a few Wes Montgomery cds. For those of you dont know, Wes Montgomery is a phenomenal jazz guitarist from the 1960's.

Even though the recording is not that great, i could not believe how great the music sounded through my 804S. Cymbals sounded perfect, their notes lingering in the air. The percussions were tight. The soundstage deep. Instrument separation was unbelievable. I dare say, nothing in my 30,000 song collection sounded this good. Jazz is definitely where B&W shines!

    Back to more jazzzz.....

Jazzz! I love it. I'm into smooth jazz. Acoustic is my favorite. Check out Peter White and Acoustic Alchemy.

Jay, I am not too into Smooth Jazz but I like Paul Hardcastle's Jazz Masters series a lot. The vocals are outstanding!

              Astonishing!
When you listen at the trumpets, trombones, timbales, conga, piano, bass, vocals ... so well defined, so well imaged and so rhythmically involved that at times I find it unbelievable they are British, they sound Latin!!.

So far I have not found anything outperforming them, for me they are the safest bet.

Welcome to my world! LOL Actually, like r100gs, Smooth Jazz is the sweet spot for me. Mostly tracks heavy in piano and acoustic quitar and what would jazz be without some sax. tboooe, with such a large and impressive music collection I would have figured you would have crossed paths with Jazz (and your B&W's) before.

r100gs, add Brian Culbertson, Mark Antoine and Euge Groove to your list (Paul Hardcastle rocks too).
