Shipping B&Ws from San Francisco, CA, to Austin, TX...

If I am looking at having some B&W DM7s shipped from San Francisco to Austin, who should I be speaking to? They are heavy heavy beasts and I don't want to spend an arm and a leg getting them here...

    Has anyone done this before?

PS: anyone familiar with these fantastic speakers? I grew up with them, my father still has them as his main fronts in his cinema setup...

I've moved my 65 HDTV & HT gear from San Jose, CA to Raleigh, NC, not even a dent or scratch on them, I've packed most of my HT stuff, used alot of packaging material, good thing I spared them from work, all double wall box, for you I think, you can pack it yourself or have professional do it, insurance if a plus, before you ship, should take care of the problem. Goodluck.

Thanks Tech Table! What company did you use to ship all this and how much did it set you back? Obviously if the shipping is outrageously expensive, then it might not be worth it...

whatever you do, do not use FEDEX, UPS, DHL, etc...I had a horrible experience going tihs route. I highly suggest using a freight shipper. This way, your package only leaves the truck when it is unloaded. The less handling the better since this is when damage is most likley to occur.

It's a moving company, I did move the entire house, it was back in 2003, I forgot the company name, may have to check with the wife.
