I just looked at that other thread, saw someone recommended some U2 tracks...is it me or is the quality of there recordings quite poor? Always sounds to me like it's recorded to try and sound good on bad music systems and thus sounds bad on anything good!

I found there last album to be a really good recording (how to dismantle an atomic bomb). this is the only one of there CDs I have so, maybe the older ones have the shabby recording you are talking about??

Maybe it's me but I've certainly felt a bit disappointed....the base just sounds loose and lacking punch to me. Maybe it's because given the money they have they can afford the best! I've mentioned it to people with more educated/professional ears than me and they agreed.

hmmm very strange indeed, I may have to go buy some more cds so I have more to compare it too, I know one thing, I have cds that are quite a bit worse!
