    B&W 600 series 4 - Any Rumours?

    Hi,

First of all I wish all a happy Christmas and a musically and healthy 2005!

In january or february I'm finally going to buy the 602.s3 as frontspeakers to replace my good old DM110i's...(does anyone still use these 110i's by the way??? I still like them ).

But does anybody know if B&W is releasing the next generation 600 series 4 next year? Then it's maybe better to wait some time....

    Greetz,

    Rob

I never heard anything about new 600 series 4 coming out next year. Even if they do, i don't think i will replace my current 600 series 3 system with the new one. If your dealer has a trade up policy, you may get the 602 S3 for now and trade for the new series when it finally released. That way you just need to pay a bit extra.
602 S3 is still a very good speakers. Match it with a sub and it surely sound wonderful. I love mine very much.

I will be saving hard for the next few years for the new 800 series.

I believe someone said that the Series three is only like 2 years old or something... So my guess is they probably have another year or two worth to get out of the Series 3....

But I'm not "in the know," just guessing from what I've heard...

I went and bought my 2 7.1 surround 602s3s just to make sure I got the series 3 speakers incase they do change.

Though I don't know if that was smart by the time 7.1 standards hit I might be wanting new speakers, but at least I have them and don't have to get them used...

Nice pics Lewing :T , next January/February I'll buy the 602's...My room has allmost the same colors as yours, the B&W's look good in sorrento!

BTW, did you consider the ASW675 sub or is the Velodyne better with the 602's?

Hi SpongeRob, I did actually consider if i want to get the ASW675 but unfortunately my favourite dealer didnt have one. All dealers recommended me to try velodyne sub instead of B&W. Velodyne subs are quite expensive but my dealer offer me a deal on a new DD10 and i couldn't resist. It looks stunning in gloss black and to me, the added EQ features justified the offered price. So i took it home to try and ended up keeping it.
To me, the DD10 match really well with the 602S3 but i have to keep the sub in low volume, (10 out of 99) because of my room size, otherwise the bass will be overkill in my room. I thought the DD10 is probably one of the best things i ever bought.

If you are looking to save a few bucks to on your subwoofer, I would highly suggest looking at the SVS and HSU companies for their subwoofer. Amazing quality for the price. Much cheaper than B&W and Velodyne.

Which series do you own: 600, 700 or 800?
              by RebelMan
Several posts around the forum got me thinking about the popularity of the different B&W series of speakers. I believe of the three primary series (600, 700 and 800) the 600 series is by far the most popular. While the 800 series is reserved for the hi-end esoteric the 600 series is the entry...

              B&W FPM Series
              by Nolan B
Well I guess I going to have to head something up on these speakers. The lack of reviews, and information on these speakers is amazing especially when they are such good speakers. I did a search for "FPM" on this site and many other and came up with almost nothing (absolutely nothing on this...

              series 600 center speaker issues
              by newguy987
Just a couple of questions concerning some issues I have run into my center speaker. It's the htm61 and I understand people have issues with it, however this little problem is different. It's still very new so I beleive it is not broken in yet. I decided to try to break it in a little quicker, so...

              by newbiemex
Hello, I was wondering when the prices of the Series 600 S3 will begin to fall and how much?

How much discount do you think I can get in NYC for the following:

              - 2 mains 603 S3
              - Center LC600
              - 2 rears 601 S3

The original MSRP would be $1,950...
