    mglimabr,

Very nice setup. I definitely agree with your 804 observation. Very nice speakers.

I have a suggestion. Move all three front speakers forward (if your situation allows). The 804's are slightly behind the entertainment center. This will compress the sound a little bit. Move them forward a couple of inches.

Same issue with the center channel. Move it as close to the front edge as you can. And as close to the same plane as the 804's. This will also open it up.

    Hope this helps.

            Hammie,

Very sweet. I bet the mains love dedicated power. I suspect soundstage and depth, along with bass, were immediately improved.

              Thanks, Steve.

I hate to use the cliche "night and day," but it was pretty night and day.

I agree that everything you mentioned was very apparent. 500W per channel makes them VERY happy indeed.

I love it! I use it as my second floor music source. I also take it outside when we are hanging out with the kids or friends.

That is a 7.0 setup. The small clear things on the ground are speakers, too.

Seems like the toe in is excessive. From the photo, it appears as though the left speaker is facing the right sofa and the right speaker facing the left sofa.

For a screen I would go with a CIH 2.39 which will give you a bigger picture and allow you to lower the screen so it isn't so high up.

Thanks Aiden, you picked up on something iv been trying to get right for while but simply cant, since this is a living area i have compomises to make with the SO and cant move much stuff around. Now the problem i have is that the speakers sit just behind the sofa and messes up the sound. It wasnt a problem with my B&W 685's as they were on stands but with these...

I wouldn't worry too much about the lower bass driver being blocked by the couch. That should have minimal effect.

I do agree that you should remove some of that toe-in. Try pointing them so that they would converge 5 ft behind your loveseat..

I have another suggestion. B&W tower speakers love current. The more, the better. While the specs on your receiver are pretty good, there is only so much power that can be packed into a single chassis, let alon having to share the power with the center and surrounds.

I would suggest getting at least a 2 channel amp to drive the CM9's. You should notice a significant jump in sound quality. Dynamics, soundstage, bass (depth and quality), etc. Pretty much everything will improve.

Below are some thoughts to consider. I have no personal experience with them, but many forum memebers have with good results. Price performance is quite good.

Over the summer I began working on a basement project since I needed to move my office with another baby on the way.

I plan to move my 804s system down soon, but I decided to put my CM7s down for a photoshoot. I have not got a TV or furniture yet (everything has been on hold since the baby came in Sept). I plan to put a 65" plasma..

Here are some photos tonight. I am pleased with the space I have for the speakers. They are 9'6" apart, 21" off the back wall and 26" off the side wall.

Also are some renderings I did of the basement before I started..

Currently I do a lot of tests based on integrated. True happiness ... inaccessible on the 800 Diamond.
