    Tommy SN,

    Some (brief) comments:

    1. One pair 704 -5.1 - Excellent but you will need some room to get the distance from the 704s

    2. One pair 705 - 5.1 - Good ,match - the subwoofer will provide the bass

    3. One pair 705+HTM7 - 6.1 - Will work but the mounting of the HTM7 will br tricky

    4. Two pair 705 - 7.1 Excellent if you can get the disance from the surround back 705s

    5. Two pair 602.5 - 7.1 - OK but not as good a match as the 705s

    6. Two pair 602 - 7.1 - Ditto

    7. One pair 603+LCR60/600 - 6.1 - Why bother?

    8. One pair 603 and one pair 602.5 - 7.1 - Nice but not as good as the 700 based options.

I highly recommend that you visit your dealer and listen for yourself! Take your room layout and dimensions with you (including height).

Why isn't the "One pair 603 and one pair 602.5 - 7.1" option as good as the 700 option?

It sould be better than the 705 option when it will provide more bass on movies..The 704 is of course better, but is it worth the price when you "just" get 5.1?

The 600 option in the back should work fine on multichannel-music also, or??

        Tommy,

You could try "Thanks for the feedback" or some similar pleasantry - you have posted WAY to many posts on the same topic and seem to be demanding answers (not good etiquette on any web forum!!!!).

That aside to answer (FOR THE LAST TIME!) your questions:

Why isn't the "One pair 603 and one pair 602.5 - 7.1" option as good as the 700 option?
Clearly (all else being equal) an option with 704s and or 705s in the rear channels is going to sound better than one with the 600 series as rear channels.

It should be better than the 705 option when it will provide more bass on movies. The 704 is of course better, but is it worth the price when you "just" get 5.1?
So long as you have a subwoofer (like the B&W ASW 750) and cross over the rear speakers at 80 Hz they won’t even be sent any bass below 80 Hz so whether you have 705s or 704s for the rears will not affect the bass – more the midrange clarity.

The 600 option in the back should work fine on multi-channel-music also, or??
Not really – for movies you are least likely to notice the mismatch with the rear channels – since they are basically used for sound effects and ambience 99% of the time. However for some multi-channel music they put full range instruments in the rear – in which case you will certainly hear the different between the rears and front speakers. This is why people who have a strong preference for multi-channel music usually prefer systems with 5 identical speakers for the front, centre and rears.

PLEASE go to the dealer and listen....

        Geoff
