current report is Wayne Knight of TV's Seinfeld's Newman fame, is reported to have died in a tractor trailor accident. Not true according to Google and various reports denying death by the Actor himself.

Yes, perhaps a natural phenomenon of the internet, where questionable or outright false information gets distributed for any number of reasons. Quite a few celebrities have been reported as dead over the years, and many have themselves been swept up in the mania of various events.
