I saw one of these (or something similar, I don't remember if it was a Panny or not) at the Brookstone store at the mall. It felt good, but I can't see spending 2 grand (or 3 grand at Brookstone) for one. Maybe at half that price. Of course I'm sitting here with a backache typing this...

Me either. Although they look nice and the massage feature sounds appealling at first blush, for that kind of money, you might as well get a really well designed supportive chair that doesn't rely on mechanical "massage" to soothe your back muscles, such as one of the Ekornes Stressless Recliners. Ekornes Stressless. They are covered with real leather, too, not vinyl.

After years of discomfort sitting in a variety of supposedly "ergonomic" chairs, and trying supplemental "support cushions", etcetera, I got an Ekornes on sale about four years ago and have found that I can sit for hours with NO back ache. I've even fallen asleep in the chair very late at night and felt refreshed when I woke up -- so much so that I investigated and finally purchased Ekornes Svane bedding as well.
