Beautiful way to show someone what they're missing out on. Even my brother-in-law didn't realize how much he was missing until I told him. I remember when Jurassic Park was released on VHS and I accidentally bought the letterbox edition. I was so ticked that the screen shrunk. Mind you I only had a 20" TV. But when I learned the real difference, I appreciated widescreen more. Today you won't find me buying other than widescreen.

Personally, I take my selectiveness one step further. I've always refused to buy anything but ANAMORPHIC widescreen DVD's. Yes, you can zoom letterboxed movies to fill a widescreen TV, but you lose resolution.
I bash my head against the wall when I see people buying full frame videos, or stores that only stock full-frame versions of certain movies.
I've found the more you get into/towards high end stuff, the more your equipment shows each and every flaw, both audio and video, of the media you play. You've got to be more and more careful to buy quality recordings, not just the latest out of the bargain bin discounts.

That's the best single demo I've seen that simply explains the benefits of OAR. Good find Pr@!
I too only purchase anamorphic (actually, enhanced for 16:9) DVD's. All it takes is one viewing on a 16:9 system to see the difference in picture quality between an enhanced and non-enhanced DVD.

Yep, that is a great demo for sure Andrew.
I wish they would go one step further and show people what the picture would look like on a widescreen TV. Maybe encourage more people to get an HD TV and encourage more local networks to start broadcasting in HDTV.
None the less, I will be e-mailing this to several of my friends. It loads very quick even with a 56k modem.
Thanks!
