    Clive, You Okay In Toronto?

Clive, I'm watching CNN right now, and they of course are focused on the huge power outage. They said it stretched up to Toronto! Are you okay? :?

Guess Clive can't reply. The power's probably still out there. I heard warnings on the radio news this morning asking motorists to stay off the streets due to the lack of traffic lights.

Currently electricity is sparse in the city of T.O, but should be up and running by tonight from what all reports are saying. Though they may have to run rolling blackouts to share the power. Shits going to hit the fan when they finally find out who caused the problem.

Reports we're hearing are a lightning strike was the initial point of interruption. . . .

Latest news from CNN is that it all started in Ohio. Something about 3 lines failing.

One scenario they were saying happened was that 300 megawatts were travelling east to NY then it suddenly did an about-face and 500 megawatts was ricocheted which cause an overload.

Hi Rand, glad you are doing okay, too. I'd forgotten you are in Toronto also. . .

                Hey David,

Thanks!! It's been real interesting. You should have seen the line up for gas. Some people even lined up at gas stations that didn't yet have power just waiting and hoping they would get it soon. Even now most people are making sure their tanks are topped up just in case we get more power outages.

I just saw on the news today that they got the numbers in for today since most people went back to work. They say that the city is still consuming too much energy and not conserving enough. I'm shocked at how many people are just plain stubborn. They refuse to help conserve power while they work at getting things up to speed. I just hope we don't get any further complications.

Today, I received an email from Clive's wife. Clive asked her to update us. I was completely out of the loop. I had no idea that October 25, Uncle Clive had a pacemaker put in. I am not sure I was supposed to share this. But since Clive is our friend, I felt an obligation to put him in the HTG thought...

                  Hi all,

I live in Texas, but my wife and I will be visiting Toronto for a week in April. I plan to visit the Paradigm speaker factory while I'm there, but I would also like to visit some of the better audio/video stores too.

Can some of my Canadian friends out here give...

Per Clive's request, his user name has been changed from "Uncle Clive" to just "Clive". This change automatically reflects in his posts, but some places on the site (such as last post in a forum or thread) may still say Uncle Clive until someone posts in that forum or thread....
