Circuit City misinforms the consumer... again

Apparently some Circuit City salespeople are telling potential buyers of plasma displays that they need to be "recharged" every few years, and of course that they need the extended warranty to cover this "maintenance".

    AVS thread

Of course after the whole DIVX fiasco I almost never set foot inside Circuit City.

It's impossible, and unnecessary anyway, to "recharge" a plasma display.

    More information on plasma "recharging"

    LOL!!

My brother in-law used to work there. You wouldn't believe the stuff he would do to get a sale (especially an extended warranty). It was evil.

Problem with 1098 connected to Plasma
      by dwhite
I'm having a video problem with the RSP1098. I'm trying to figure out whether there is something wrong with the 1098, some incompatibility with my plasma monitor, or some bad mojo in my house. All ideas or experience with similar set-ups would be greatly appreciated.

      The problem shows...

Well, I quitely added this TV to supplement my front projection since I saw real quickly that I was going to crank a lot of hours on my PJ in a hurry. It's an HDTV monitor, the following applies: (Extracted from Plasma Depot since it was actually better than Sony's writeup.) I won't address each feature...

      Circuit City CD Sale
      by David Meek
I just saw a commercial for a Circuit City CD sale coming up. All CD's in their stores will be $11.99 or less. Unfortunately I didn't hear the dates the sale will be happening on - anyone know anything?

Circuit City files for chapter 11 bankruptcy
      by George Bellefontaine
This was reported today on the Bloomberg.com site. There is a Circuit City store in my home town ( they call it The Source ) but it is a joke. It replaced a Radio Shack and both were housed in a tiny, overcrowded location in the mall. If it goes under here, it won't be missed. I don't klnow if the larger...
