    Downtime Is Good HT Time

Hi all. Just sitting here in a nice Vicodin/muscle-relaxant haze. If anything good has come out of messing up my back, it's the quality HT time I've gotten (the chairs in the HT and my bed are about the only places I've found that are comfortable). So far I've managed to watch:

    Tombstone
    Final Fantasy
    The Mummy Returns
    Lara Croft: Tomb Raider
    Jet Li's The One
    The 13th Warrior
    Spy Game
    Ronin
    Leon: The Professional
    Total Recall: SE

plus, do a 64-point convergence on the Pioneer, re-calibrate the audio with Video Essentials and start playing with my new AVIA disc. After the MRI today, I'm planning to watch a couple more and listen to some tunes.

Anyway, I just wanted to say "hey". Later . . .

Sure hope you get the :sos: you need David. I forgot that your still on the injured reserve list. Goodluck on the MRI!!! As long as you've been injured, it would appear you did mess something up, unfortunately.

I just watched Spy Game this weekend. Pretty good flick, although a bit slow moving at times I thought.

Glad to hear you've been getting some quality time in the HT. Sorry that it had to be under your current condition. Get well soon!

George, yeah, I've got that manly action/adventure/western thing going right now.

Thanks everyone for all your thoughts - it's nice to read things like that. But, I really can't feel too sorry for myself. If I hadn't been stupid, I wouldn't have dinged my back. :?

David have a great time watching and get well soon. Nobody needs to know that it was your fault.

            Take care,

yeah, especially the company, neverknow, it could be lawsuite time. Of course, that wouldn't help the career ladder to much.

Actually, I'm trying to decide whether or not to 'fess up about how I hurt myself. I was moving a 21" monitor when I did it. I haven't reported it as a work-related injury as I don't want to screw up departmental yearly bonuses by bombing the "safety" portion of the calculation. But, if this is going to run into surgery and/or an extended period off, I don't want to leave myself vulnerable to a lay-off. Decisions, decisions.
                :?

David I'd recomend you fill a report of what happened...you never know if this might get serious and without a report of the incident you'd be SOL later if it got $$$ and insurance was called in etc.

The viewed movie pile is getting pretty high. Add:

                      Pay It Forward
                      Conspiracy Theory
                      Bram Stoker's Dracula: SuperBit
                      The Replacement Killers: SE
                      Rambo: First Blood
                      Rambo II

Also, I took "youse guyse" advice and reported my back as a work injury. After a little wailing and gnashing of teeth everyone was pretty good about it. HR and Safety both needed a detailed timeline on the last 3 weeks and there was other paperwork to fill out, but other than E-mails to all IT staff reminding them to report work-related injuries immediately, nothing remotely negative happened. Whew!

Thanks for the good counsel gang. I appreciate it. :T

Well, Best Buy was having a sale today to coincide with the release of "Spy Kids 3D". If you buy this new movie, you can get Spy Kids 1 and 2 for $9.99 each. Seemed good to me.

Now, I haven't seen any of the Spy Kids movies, but I've heard they're good, and got some good reviews....

First off let me say that I recommend this movie to all ages. This is one fun movie that is nonstop.

The story's about the Cortez family. Juni and Carmen Cortez are the son and daughters of famous spy's Georgio and Ingrid. The kids handle various assignments, but Juni's been blamed for...
