When Butterworth was with Home Theater way back ( I believe he's with Dolby now) he did a review on the Zenith PRO851X crt front projector. I was an early adopter of lcd ( a Sharp) and found that projecting it on a 100" screen the pixels were outrageously visible, so I felt I wanted to go the crt route. Butterworth liked the Zenith so much he actually bought one. There was a Zenith dearler in my area but wouldn't bring one in unless I agreed to buy it. I decided to take a chance buy on the basis of the Butterworth review. He was absolutely correct in everything he said in his review. For the money, it was the best video grade projector available. Though I do most of my viewing now on a Sony VPL400 widescreen lcd projector, I still use the old gal though for 4:3 viewing of sports events on broadcast tv, older B&W films and other 4:3 stuff. I believe I bought it in 91 or 92 and it still works like a charm, though the ol' tubes have dimmed somewhat. Anyway, Butterworth was an excellent reviewer and I have never been sorry for trusting him. I also bought the Denon 3801 and The Yahama A3090 based on reviews.
