I just learned on another site about the death of Anthony Quinn. It wasn't that long ago I saw him on Larry King Live and thought how remarkly healthy he looked. Very sad, indeed. He was an excellent actor that never failed to make you believe in his character.

When you get to be my age (64) you become acutely aware of all the great talent that is no longer with us: Bogart, Wayne, Stewart, Cooper, Mitchum,Ladd,Sinatra,Martin...I'm sure I could add to the list if I gave it more thought. That's not to say the talent is lacking today. I just can't help but feel sad when an actor/entertainer from my generation passes on.Ahhh, but look at whet they've left behind for us to see, hear and enjoy.

Re: your list... all I can say is WOW!

BTW, one of the titles you listed A DREAM OF KINGS,sees Quinn playing a Greek who is much different than the character of Zorba, but with a similar Greek outlook on life. Dream Of Kings was a terrific book and transferred well to film. I just wish it was available on DVD.

Ah, Tony, we will miss you in life, but just look at what you acomplished on film(Ken's list) as well as your art and writings.
