An outboard HD/USB/Firewire hub to go with my MB Pro (which I'm typing this on from my local Starbucks), no HT related goodies, though my daugher tells me there are some Aimee Mann SACD's in transit that didn't quite make it here on time!
And my daughter should be getting (from me) a new Westinghouse 1080P 37" monitor by the end of the week, as the old Toshiba RPTV died this year.
No DVD's this year, though I did get some iTunes gift certificates, to help fund my growing TV Show habit there.
Have a great Holiday everyone! (I'm off until January 8th- barring forseen emergencies already well past the horizon).the AudioWorx

My wife first ordered a subscription to 'Audiofile' mag, when it came in the mail, she finally realized it was about books on tape. The kind you put in car audio system to listen to a narration of a book you’re too busy to read.
She figured it out soon enough to get me a real subscription to ‘Stereophile’, though!- Bottom

My wife gave me some Sennheiser HD650 headphones and a 15 foot Stefan Audio Arts cable to keep things quiet late at night.
And, although these were not Christmas gifts, I finally finished off the music end of my system with an Esoteric SA-60 cdp and an Eastern Electric tube Minimax Phono Preamp.Stan- Bottom

I got a bunch of the obligatory stuff...sox,sweats,aftershave and so on.
But I also got a pair of Sennheiser HD-25's...which will be excellent for my hikes and waddles around the lake.
Also,my wife made drapes to cover the slider down in 'the Cave',which looks better than the blinds and should deaden things a little more also.
All in all a nice haul...- Bottom

Well, my big haul was...
An insulated plaid shirt, a gift certificate for dining out, a DVD movie "High Tension", a Hooter's Hot Wing kit, a pound of Caribou Coffee "Obsidian" whole beans, a high-intensity X-Light micro LED flashlight (works great for charging my glow-in-the-dark fishing lures), three (allegedly genuine Cuban) Hoyo de Monterrey Habana cigars, and two tickets to the MN Vikings vs. STL Rams football game this Sunday.
Then there was all the food and my brother's bottle of Crown Royal....There are some things which are impossible to know, but it is impossible to know which things these are. :scratchhead:

Hope that home purchase your planning will be out of the city, it will save you a small fortune in taxes!- Bottom

this month however, I am gifting myself some drivers and electronics to build speakers (not sure what kind of speakers yet though)- Bottom

After selling a few pieces off my setup(Monster AVS2000/HTPS7000) and some 100 DVD's, Santa me bought:
and 3 PSAudio PC's.
From the wife and kid I asked for cash too buy a new Audio Rack because the sheer size and weight of the powerplant and my Denon 4806 was too much for my old rack. The VTI HGR 404 rack is deep, wide and has plenty off room between shelves. Here's a pic.
I also sold off my Xbox360 premium with HD-DVD and wireless antenna to pickup a PS3 that I was lucky enough to find at my local blockbuster. The PS3 is one helluva machine with tons off potential.- Bottom

Elton John The Captain and the Kid and a live EP
A Beau Dommage Tribute album with various Quebecois artists
a small capacity, no name, portable MP3 player (from my mom--she meant well but she knows nothing about electronics, of any kind. It does, at least, double as a portable 1 gig drive that can carry any PC file type, so it will have a useful function and, I'm sure, the audio portion will be sufficient for my outings to the gym)- Bottom

Chris D, I've had the dvd and cd for years, but after playing the HD-DVD, it was like a whole new experience. Great performances throughout. There's something about the black and white, and the way it was filmed, it just grabs you and pulls you in. I haven't had time to watch "Live in Sidney" yet, but the performances on "Rattle and Hum" are I.M.O.O. the best I've seen from them.Last edited by Chris D; 02 February 2007, 23:35 Friday.- Bottom

Ooops, I forgot to mention my other A/V present. It's a Roku Labs Soundbridge model M1001. It's a music server (similar to the Sonos) for streaming WMA, MP3, FLAC files from your PC to your "real" sound system. It also will stream internet radio stations too - pretty darn cool!.

I got the brand new Pioneer Elite BDP-HD1 Blu-ray player.
I also got some Blu-ray titles to go with it: Kingdom Of Heaven, Monster House, X-Men 3, Black Hawk Down.To spend more $$$ on electronics without first addressing room acoustics is fruitless IMO.- Bottom

Alain that's awesome! :T Let us know how the Pioneer player looks. The initial Samsung had a very soft picture and I'm hoping the Pioneer didn't fall into that trap..

Toshiba HD A2
This is a great little player for upconverting SD dvds, and HD dvds if you do not have a 1080P display. Much improved over the A1 in terms of being user friendly. Very weak for cd play though with no analog connectabilty.- Bottom

:T :T :T Well, my present was purchased early via a local deal, but actually only made it into the rack a few days before christmas...
I managed to pick up: This
to go with my acurus A125 amp, Klipsch La Scala, and THX cinema speakers, LG7832 upconverting dvd, and my Hitachi PJ-TX100.
I'm enjoying the heck out of optimizing the setup now.

Enjoy your new rack. I was hoping to get mine delivered this weekend, unfortunatley 2 of the 3 boxes its shipped in was delayed clearing so it didn't make it too me. I atleast got the box that contained the frame so all I need is the glass.- Bottom

I spent Christmas in England this year. We stayed with my wife's sister hand her family. First time spending Christmas outside Ireland.
Anyhow, on to the good stuff.
I got me some CDs - Pink Floyd Pulse, Bruce Springsteen We shall overcome and Damien Rice '9'. I also got a box set of Black Books - a UK based sitcom - very, very funny.
I also got myself the new Sony Ericsson W850i Walkman phone with a 4GB memory stick. It sounds great. Perfect when I'm travelling.
Finally my wife really, really surprised me with a TAG Heuer Carrera watch. Knocked my socks off, so she did!Vincent.
