IIRC, a few years back there were several threads in another major audio forum about some guy (in Chicago, possibly?) that swore he could "tune" his room via adjusting the tension on his sheetrock wall by tightening and loosening the screws holding the sheetrock to the studs. I kid you not. The story was backed up by some people that claimed to have heard the guy demonstrate it. I don't believe it was a joke as I remember some comments started to get a bit heated as people debated it.

Many years ago there was a device called a 'Star Transducer'. Anything you attached it to became a speaker. The SQ was terrible.

Over the past few years I have auditioned a number of speakers spanning the universe of prices. One of my favorites was the Eggleston Andra - version one. While not the most uncolored speaker I've heard it's performance from 1000 hz down was excellent. The Dynaudio 30W driver handled the lowest frequencies...
