Texas DIY'ers (or others with interest), please check the DIY forum!

I don't want to break any rules about cross-posting, so if anyone would be interested in attending a DIY-audio centric gathering in Texas, please see the thread in the Mission: Possible DIY forum. You don't have to be a speaker builder or bring anything to attend, just someone interested in what goes on in the DIY world.

    Thanks!

Exploring Common DIY Terminology (work in progress)
    by technodanvan
    Preface

I started this article with the intention of offering a guide to DIYers, mostly those new to the field, that defines and explains the terminology you often see in discussions on the topic of DIY loudspeakers. A passive radiator is located within the same volume as the driver it is supplementing, but could be placed on any side of the cabinet. When the active driver moves...

Quality control of DIY designs and other speakers
    by Jed
The purpose of this thread is to review the idea of how difficult it is to maintain precision with completed DIY designs, or any speaker for that matter, over a long period of time. A lot of the designs on the web are getting pretty old now, including even some of the Mission Accomplished speakers....
