Why doesn't Rotel and NAD have universal players?

    Why doesn't Rotel and NAD have universal players?

    I have been waiting for either NAD or Rotel to make a universal player or atleast a SACD player. I know their newer DVD players can handle DVD-A, but so far no SACD. Does anyone know why they haven't made any players with SACD, or if they have certian issues with SACD?

      It costs money to license to produce either format, and for marketing reasons or whatever, they may not be inclined to make an SACD player at this time- though there are some good multi-format chipsets from BB, they aren't as cheap as straight CD or DVD.

          Actually I'm fine with DVD-A CD and HQ video. Just want digitial out.... and a digital input added rto RSP-1098!!
