I thought someone might be interestd in this reply I got from NAD recently ....
"The current plan is to start using DPIIx in our May production of T163's. For existing units, there are two parts to the upgrade. The first part is upgrading the main control software which can be done via the RS232 port. The new software adds several new features and updates to the user interface. To get PLIIx, you then need to replace an IC chip on the DSP board which should be done by a service center.
Best regards,
K. Pritchard"
The local agent in South Africa has confirmed this and says earlier T163's can be upgraded, provided you pay for the new chip. This replacement will merely 'clip into the slot' and won't require any soldering.
Wonder how much that chip will cost.....?
