Good reading. Glad to know that my setup of two full range, center and surrounds to small, and no subwoofer is a viable alternative.

What did it say if your front, center, and rear surround speakers are all capable to 31 or so and therefore settable to 60Hz??? And what if your DD-EX center rear speakers are good to only a crossover setting to 80HZ or so?

Guys...
My front/rear spks are NHT VT-2's (26Hz), with my Super Two towers at 35Hz. My HGS-18 is set at 40Hz for movies, and at 80Hz for multi-ch music and 2 ch music. Sometimes I'll lower the 2 ch to 40Hz. Am I on track? Thanks!!

I'd say no you aren't set up right. I usually recomend double the F3 point as the lowest crossover point you should cross over at so in your case I'd keep it at 60 for the mains...or likely set to smalls and cross at 80 for movies. For music do what sounds best but for movies crossed at 80 seems to be the best choice.

In the article it says, "if spks are large, generally run them as such." As I do!!
