Good reading. Glad to know that my setup of two full range, center and surrounds to small, and no subwoofer is a viable alternative.

What did it say if your front, center, and rear surround speakers are all capable to 31 or so and therefore settable to 60Hz??? And what if your DD-EX center rear speakers are good to only a crossover setting to 80HZ or so?

          ?????????

            Guys...

My front/rear spks are NHT VT-2's (26Hz), with my Super Two towers at 35Hz. My HGS-18 is set at 40Hz for movies, and at 80Hz for multi-ch music and 2 ch music. Sometimes I'll lower the 2 ch to 40Hz. Am I on track? Thanks!!

I'd say no you aren't set up right. I usually recomend double the F3 point as the lowest crossover point you should cross over at so in your case I'd keep it at 60 for the mains...or likely set to smalls and cross at 80 for movies. For music do what sounds best but for movies crossed at 80 seems to be the best choice.

In the article it says, "if spks are large, generally run them as such." As I do!!

I am in the process of tweaking my set up. I have B&W804S for the front, B&W HTM3s for a center, B&W 601S3 and B&W DS63S for the surrounds. I have a Velodyne DD-15 for one sub and an Outlaw LFM-1 for the other. I am using Rotel RSX1057 as a prepro and RMB1077 for the main amp....

                  Folks,

I built the RS TWMM using Dennis' crossover a few months ago. I am interested in learning the crossover basics. Do we know what's the crossover frequency points between tweeter-mid-woofers? I failed to find that info in the long thread and was wondering if anyone still has memory...

                  LFE over x-over freq discarded for 1066, 1065, & 1055?
                  by BleakShore
I'm told that the BM in the 1066, 1065, & 1055 discards the LFE above the crossover frequency. That is, if you set your speakers small, and chose to set the sub crossover freq at, say, 60 Hz, anything above 60 Hz in the LFE channel is simply discarded.

                  Now, this doen't sound like...

RSX 1056: what exactly is LFE and what is the function in 2 channel mode?
                  by DUCKY
Sorry for no doubt a stupid question, but this is my first multi channel equiptment

On my RSX 1056 I can select 2-channel mode to get (I think) stereo sound, blocking all channels but the fronts. The first time I press the '2 ch' button I go into 2 channel + LFE mode. Push it...
