Firewire Ports, IEEE1394, I-Link...I havn't found much on this, seems some mfgs are turning this way (B&K Ref 50) ...Is this becoming an industry standard???

It looks like it will. I'm not 100% up to date but I think the hold-up was that different companies had planned different implementations of the firewire spec. In other words, Sony's firewire might work with Denon's but not Pioneer's. -not exactly a standard.

I think only a few companies (Pioneer?) even put consumer products on the market with their proprietary firewire variants. Most have been patient enough to wait for widespread adoption.

Anthem has a planned upgrade for their AVM-20 to add firewire as well.
