    Arcam AVR 400: still faulty?

    Hi there
My Arcam AVR 350 just died (no sound from digital sources; the motherboard seems broken). I'm now considering a new receiver. As I was a happy owner of the AVR 350 (especially because of the stereo sound), I'm thinking about getting the AVR 400 from Arcam. But it seems that Arcam still has a lot of quality problems with their devices. Do you guys recommend the AVR 400 anyway or do I better stay away from it and look somewhere else? Has the device quality of the AVR 400 improved?
Thanks a lot for your help!

I love my AVR600 and have had no problems with it in the two years I have owned it.
Now using the channels 6+7 to bi-amp my L&R and can hear a difference in quality and "thump" now in Stereo mode :T

Just wish I could bi-amp my centre as well ;x(

      kc
Arcam avr600, Sky HD 2Tb, Oppo 103D, Sony VPL-VW500ES, Phillips large Pronto pro remote
      B&W 803Di speakers, B&W HTM2Di centre speaker, B&W 7NT in wall rear speakers, B&W ASW1000 Sub

Thanks for the replies. Yes, currently I'm considering the Anthem MRX 700. But I somehow find it difficult to leave Arcam, as I still think their stereo performance is hard to beat for a reveiver...

Maybe hard to beat for a receiver, but should be easily topped with dedicated stereo gear...

For an AVR you should consider Rotel if you are a big music listener.

New 804's, Arcam AVR 350 versus Yamaha RXV2700
              by fatswillie123
Features versus performance is the dilema. The Yamaha is loaded with features and cheaper than the Arcam. Is it snobbery, or is the Yamaha RXV2700 receiver really less of a product than the Arcam AVR350. Which receiver will treat my new 804's better. No comments about seperates as I have no space or...

              Rotel or Arcam?
              by jayman_1975
Hey all, I have been in the hunt for a receiver for awhile now. I thought it was over with my purchase or a NAD T752 but the unit had issues so I sent it back and got back my money. With the little time I spent with that unit I really enjoyed the sound quality compared to my old Denon 3805, plus I loved...

              Rotel 1057 vs Arcam AVR250
              by srusmantijo
              Hi folks,

I'm looking to replace my Denon AVR 3300, which starts giving me intermittent audio problems. I have B&W Nautilus 804 and HTM2, rated at 50-200W. I have seriously considered a Rotel 1057 until I auditioned an Arcam AVR250. 8O

              I have auditioned both Rotel...

New ARCAM processor to be released soon
              by jimmyp58
ARCAM has released their new pre/pro for 2005. The AVP-700 is on the waters as I type this and heading for the North America distribution center in Indianaplois.

This is a gem of a unit. I'll post more details as they become available but according to the folks at Audiophile Systems,...

4 CD Players Compared Arcam, Consonance, Denon, Consonance.
              by cafad
Over the last 5 years I have, for various reasons, come into the possession of 4 different cd players (details below). Now I wouldn’t be a budding audiophile if the idea didn’t occur to me, eventually, to find out which one of them was the best. I googled each of them to get the technical specs,...
