    $500 Receiver

    I am helping a friend:

Looking to buy a new receiver
    Looking for mid range (~$400+/-)…

built in networking (for Pandora and possibly airplay) / 5 hdmi / and then the reassignable 7 channel speaker option (for a 5.1 and a powered zone 2)

    Onkyo, Denon, Pioneer, Yamaha?

In that price you're going to get most bang per buck probably from Onkyo. And I'd seriously consider the used market as well.

You can get a more than decent onkyo factory refurb for that price from Accesseroies4less.com

        Rotel Processor vs Onkyo Receiver
        by whmacs
        Hi All,
I've had my HT setup for a few years now based around an Onkyo 787 receiver. Due to extensions being completed at my home, in the next few weeks I will be added a projector (infocus 5700) and replacing my existing speakers with Jamo THX D6LCR fronts / centre and D6 SUR for a 7.1 THX setup...

I am currently working on my first home audio/theater system. I will have Nat Ps as the mains and will build the sub and rears later on. I'm looking at the Onkyo 604 as my receiver right now. It has HDMI in/outs and it works with 4ohm speakers. What I'm really confused about is the DVD/CD player. I...

Use TV instead of Receiver for Switching?
        by paulct
I've noticed that many of the new RPTV's have a host of inputs now, handling all the right stuff. My question is, given that I still want the audio to go through my Onkyo receiver for sound, which unit should switch between the components? Seems easier to hook the DVD, Cable Box, GameCube and Raw cable...

        Hi there

        I currently own an Onkyo TX-SR600E receiver with the following speakers;

        Polk RT5 Bookshelves acting as front speakers (8 ohms, 20 - 125 w/channel, Efficiency 89 dB)
        Polk CSi30 Center
        Polk PSW350 Sub

The receiver has these specs for...

        Onkyo Receiver, Rotel Amp
        by headshrinker2
After a whole bunch of obsessing, I ordered an Onkyo 706 AV Receiver. I am primarily trying to put together a fun home theater set-up that satisfies my ears, but does not break the bank.

From a previous home theater setup, I have a Rotel RB-956AX. The 706 has pre-outs so I will be...
