I expected by now to be seeing these big fire sales on HD-DVD, since the war's over. But sales have been modest. I went to Best Buy today, and they have a small rack of HD-DVD, listed at 30% off. Not bad, but when you start at $29.99 for a HD-DVD, with that sale the movie still comes out to be $21.00. Not exactly cheap.
I'm expecting to see HD-DVD's for under $10, since it's a soon-to-be-dead format. Especially on eBay for used discs, but they're still going for $15-30. Unrealistic? Or do we just need to wait a while, for people to realize that the format war's over, and THEN really start selling their stuff?
