    1080p madness...

Just noticed that the new Monster surge protectors coming in (not the nice rack mount ones, just the large power strips) have big stickers on the front proclaiming they are "1080P compatible".

It's hard enough trying to keep consumers up with HDMI and 1080p (and why you may not need to worry). Now we have to worry about them not wanting something because it's not 1080p compatible, even if it has no bearing what-so-ever.

Yup i got in insert in my Blue Ray "Bridge to Terabithia" advertising monster. On it it claimed you needed a Monster HDMI cable in order to fully enjoy 1080p, and a Monster power condition which is 1080p compabitble and having the power conditioner will ensure you see all 1080p has to offer.

Uh... a surge protector that is "1080p compatible"? :wtf: Only Monster...

Hey, guys... are your theater seats 1080p compatible? Be careful, now...

(I have no doubt Monster will start trying to sell theater seats here in the next few years)

Poor average consumer. And the worst is that they will fall for it.

Is there not a law against this?

you've got to be f'in kidding me. i'm sorry, but not only does that setup looks like it adds about 200lbs of extra weight but i will trust the engineers of H&R, bilstein, and penske to design my suspension.

Weeellll...technically, they are correct. The surge protectors ARE 1080p compatible. You plug in your 1080p gear into it and the gear works as it is supposed to. That's how sleazebag nonsense like this gets by the consumer protection laws. And hey, if people are willing to pay 5000$/ft for a power cord so that ''the veils of virtual blankets'', or some such nonsense, can be ''lifted away'', then 1080p compatible surge protectors will, no doubt, find some buyers.

Then last generation Monster power product is...

not 1080p compatible? Put up an old conditioner on E-bay, description works great however "selling due to 1080p incompatibility"

It could be spun that way :T Marketing back-fire

Isn't that a picture of a Lexus? Bose claims they have "improved" the suspension...wonder what Lexus thinks of that? The Lexus ride is best in world IMO. Didn't know Bose was responsible. I guess its true, "Bose Knows" -Russ

All right. I have pretty much decided that my soon-to-be home theater room will feature one of the newer 1080p projectors. I decided this after visiting a showroom with a number of different DLP projectors, mainly runco. While i did not see the frequently mentioned rainbows, the pixelly effect was very...

Of course this was inevitable after the rear projection DLP 1080p displays were announced. :T But the BIG question will be the FPTV unit pricing.

I see this in magazines where individuals would spend over $100,000 for a home theater with only five or seven seats. I wouldn't put that much out for that little seating area. But does it matter? What is important here > the design, equipment.............. Q. Should "How many seats" be...
