Too many variables for a specific recommendation but you can Google/Wikipedia for the technical definitions this.

I think for the most part that class D amps are just recently coming in to their own where they can compete with class a, a/b or even g both economically and sonically. Class D defiantly saves a lot of space and runs cooler. I just did an extensive direct comparison at a Rotel shop between just about all of their Class D and A/b's and I went home with the class a/b rmb 1095 (200 x 5 Watts, 10" tall and 85lbs). Happy, happy, joy, joy!

What I especially liked about the a/b was the depth of music. I was pretty impressed though that Rotel could fit 500x2 watts into such a small box. Home theater was pretty much a draw. What really impressed me about the class D Rotel 7x100 was that it sounded like so many more watts than just about any other ?x100 class a/b that I've heard.

I hope that my observations help.

OK, I thought it might be a fun exercise to come up with our own set of definitions related to our beloved hobby.

As a reference, here is a link to the one at Stereophile.

But I thought ours might take a less serious, more lighthearted tack........
