    chesty mids...i think

After setting up a friend system I noticed that the center sounds a bit "Chesty".With out a laptop and TrueRta i'm lost.Any idea what frequency lends itself to add that wonderful sound to the center.

I know it's a boundry issue as the center is on a solid stand below his screen.Because this stand supports the L&R also it's not going anywhere soon.Add all his gear.

I'm thinking i will have to get a laptop soon to "See" the problems.
Here is my LCR "Trio". Way to go guys !

If just a little bit try cutting some 250hz narrow 'Q' if you have that option.
Be certain it's isolated to the center speaker 1st.That should open up the vocal.

Is it an RPTV, FP or flat panel?? Is the speaker de-coupled from the stand in any way? What is the stand made of? Is the face of the speaker in line with the surface of the screen?

I'll try some soundtracks that reviel the chestyness and build a filter about -3db, maybe 1/3rd octave and sweep across to see if it goes away.It has to be in the woofer.

          HTM1 Speaker Stand
          by gostan
I finally solved my Sony GWIII-HTM1 speaker placement issue by breaking down and purchasing the HTM1 speaker stand. My center channel is now at the proper height sitting directly in front of my monitor. I have readjusted all audio levels to allow for the fact that the center channel speaker is now...

          Statements II Center Channel
          by sawdust
I'm starting to build the Statements II Center to match my L/R Statements II, upgraded from the original Statements. My question is whether there is any benefit to tilting the Statements II Center upward toward the listeners ears using an angled stand. The center will be on a short stand on the floor...

          RSX-1055 and center channel
          by asacam
I have a RSX-1055 that I use as a pre-amp and to power my center and rear surround speakers. I have Kef 104/2's that are powered by a conrad-johnson 200w/ch. amp. My center speaker is a Kef IQ6c. I also have a Martin Logan Grotto sub in the system. My problem is the quality of the sound in the center...

          Is this a crazy idea?
          by jacket_fan
In the front of the theater I have a few problems I need to address.

I have a pair of Magnepan 3.6s and a CC3 center channel. I have two DIY subs. And I have an amp (Cinepro 3k6SE) sitting on the carpet that drives the two subs. The CC3 sits on a speaker stand I made for the old center...
