    cordless phones

By trial and error, read accident, I discovered that a phone in a back room closet was 900mhz.
I was using it for internet calls on the dsl line and when I switched it with a 5.8ghz, all of the wireless headphones started working again.
Last year I had to ban the 2.4mhz from the house because of the wifi network.
Even the logitech mice and keyboards are working better, range wise.
    Just an FYI.

I found out by accident that when I send or receive a call on my cell phone near my sub it will activate the auto on feature.

Pez, that's an odd thing? Call it an extra cool feature? Could that be BlueTooth?

Bogey, that is correct that they stopped working because of interference.
I have a set for late night computing and one for TV watching.
I noticed they could no longer recieve anything and believed they had failed.
So I have banned the 900mhz phones.

Don't most 900 MHz devices have selectable channels to avoid interference?

Frequency hopping may put a phone in a certain slot, then a few days later I turn on the the other wireless device and cafloouey, whoever is stronger wins and they both suffer.
Caflouey by the way is a technical term indicating I was about to throw them out.

This becomes a problem when so many things go wireless within a certain range.
You may have wireless: cars, trucks, helicopters and planes, garage openers, rf remotes, mice and keyboards, x10 stuff, cameras, key fobs, cordless phones, rca lyra, I-go audio link.
These are just to mention a few that I see looking around my room. They should all be well made and play nice, but may not.
In fact, thank you for reminding me of the Lyra device, I have to check and see where it sits in the radio band.

So, with the advent of the technical age of phones, all sorts of phones, I phones, Android phones, how come we never discuss them?

A friend at work just got a Nexus 2 I think it is, I was intrigued by it's form factor, seemed very nice.

I hang onto a Epic 4G samsung phone...

              Phone volume issues?
              by madmac
Hey, has anyone noticed volume issues with their phones recently? I listen to a fair amount of music on my Samsung Note phone and it seems that most times I'm listening at maximum volume and it is ok......but not super loud.

With my older phones and various other music players I've had...

              by cobbpa
I'm starting to look at buying some tools..I'll probably get one of the cordless 'kit' offerings that includes a circular saw and drill. Dewalt offers this pairing that includes a battery charger (18v) for $300. Firstly, does anybody have experience with Dewalt cordless tools? I've done some searching...

I read about an HTC 1X and 1X+, is this the predecessor to the new HTC ONE?

To make sure I got this right, the HTC One is the latest and greatest phone from HTC, right?

So, is the EVO, way out of date now in terms of new features I guess? I used to think the EVO was the...
