    Basic Information Needed

    Hello-
    I've worked with the basic systems in the past. Dvd hooked up to a receiver connected to some speakers. I want to purchase a kick ass, expensive system but I don't know what I need. I'm seeing all these preamps and amplifiers. What do I need? How are they connected together? What do they do, etc? Someone please help?

      What kind of budget are we talking here? We'll need a lot more information before we can recommend anything to you.

          First, Welcome to HTG :T

          Second, yeah I agree that's a bit vague. We'll need more info like budget, room size, HT vs music preference, do we need to include a display and video sources etc.
