    Speaker Calibration Questions

    Guys,

Any help with a couple of questions in the Starting Block? Thanks!

Couple of questions: 1. I calibrate all of my speakers using my processor test tones. My DVD player (Pioneer DV-45a) also has some calibration settings for speaker distance as well as volume level. What do I set my DVD settings to if I've done all of this on the processor? 2. I use two subwoofers on the left side of my

    Hey there,

Regarding your first question, I would strongly suggest turning off all processing that the DVD player is conducting. If all of your speakers are initially calibrated using your processor, then use the settings on that. See if there is some setting in the dvd player to do this.

Regarding the subwoofer distances, try both distances. Actually, I would try setting it to one of the distances of your subwoofer, and matching the output level using an SPL meter.

    Hope this helps.... Good luck!

      Thanks Fauzi!

I will go ahead and turn off the processing in my DVD player (if I can find it). It makes sense that I allow the processor to handle all these settings. Any one familiar with a Pioneer DVD who can tell me where I can turn it off? Thanks!

I use to own that DVD player and if I remember correctly if you are not using the processor output connections then it is bypassed automaticly and is turned off.

Trade: Copy of Calibration DVD for Movie or something?
          by willng24
          Hey Folks,

I apologize if this is outside the relm of this forum. I need a calibration DVD but I don’t see the purpose of buying one if it will only be used once. Would anyone be interested in trading a copy of their calibration dvd for say copy of a movie or something.

In my case, specifically a new LG LH90 LED set.

I bought a 47" LH90 at the usual Black Friday gig at Best Buy, like a lot of us tech addicts do. It's replacing a 40" Bravia which I dearly love, but is going to a relative as a Christmas hand-me-down. In fact, they have it and...

          Hi all.

It's been a long time since I upgraded my A/V system (NAD separates & Paradigm 3se's which I love + Mitsu 20" analog monitor - all very old but still kicking), so I'm long past due for a 'treat'. I would say that I use 50% movies & 50% audio.

C2 question on auto-distance calibration for subwoofer
          by jewel
          Hi,

I'm trying to use the auto-distance calibration on C2 to set the subwoofer distance. The measured distance is 3.3m, but the auto-calib sets it to 6.7m. Should I use the actual distance or the auto-calib distance?

Also, the auto-calib distances are different if I change...
