Trade: Copy of Calibration DVD for Movie or something?

    Hey Folks,

I apologize if this is outside the relm of this forum. I need a calibration DVD but I don’t see the purpose of buying one if it will only be used once. Would anyone be interested in trading a copy of their calibration dvd for say copy of a movie or something.

    Thanks,

I'd recommend buying a calibration DVD, because you won't be using it just once. When you change things in your system or room, you'll want to recheck your calibration. I use my Avia disc all the time.

Same here. I own 3 different calibration discs, and use them repeatedly. Every time I change something, I recalibrate. (it gets faster every time once you know what you're doing) Also, over time, displays lose brightness, audio components get wear, etc, and calibration discs keep your components dialed in.

Plus, they usually have some good demo material, too, to test out or show off your system.

Do an internet search for Ovation Software, Avia, and/or Video Essentials. Amazon.com, (and many other DVD sales sites) Ovation's homepage, and others have them.

O.K. after all my praise about the RDV-1060 I have run into a 'glitch' with some DVD-A discs.

I mail ordered all of the Beethoven Symphonies (BPO/Abbado) on DVD-A. These recordings were rated 9/10 in Absolute Sound Magazine, so I was really looking forward to them.

              Hello Everyone,

Jason (aud19) and I have been discussing to most efficient way to rip DVD-Audio discs to your computer in the FLAC (Free Lossless Audio Codec) format.

This allows you to store DVD-A songs in high resolution on your computer fully tagged and either listen...

              3910 - problems with dvd-r discs
              by tommy_sn
              Hi!

I have some problems playing dvd-r discs on my 3910. Some times the picture pixelates, laggs and the movie freezes. But the next day, when i put in the same disc, it works perfectly. Anyone had similar problems, and know about a possible solution?

              Tommy!

              SACD/DVD-A or LP?
              by gostan
A little over one year ago I purchased my Denon 2900 Combo CD-DVD-SACD-DVD-Audio combination player to replace an older Sony dvd-cd player. At the time I was enthralled with the idea of high resolution audio and its' future. Initially (over the first three months), I went out and purchased a fairly...
