DVD control using Escient SE-D1 dvd

Looking to manage an ever growing DVD collection and need advice from forum members. Talked to an Escient rep today about the SE-D1 DVD DVD management system. Does anyone have any real life experience with this unit? Don't want to spend more than I need to but if it will give the control I want that's ok. Are there any alternatives out there I should consider?

I haven't played with that model, but I'm sure it works just like their DVDM-100. That thing works great and is very easy and intuitive to use. I think the SE-D1 is limited to one changer (400 discs). Might want to look at the DVDM-100 is you think you will go over that.

There's not too many alternatives for changer managers. You'd have to step up to a full hard drive based system.

Interesting that this thread got resurrected, even by a test post. Recently I've been looking at Elan's solution for DVD control, which is to pair their controller with a Sony 400 disc DVD changer. I'm just over 400 DVD's, so this might work well. Mega $$$, though.
