Used Rotel RSX-965 vs new receiver?
Folks,
I can buy a used Rotel RSX-965 for $400, or buy a [likely new] HT receiver for the same money. What do you guys suggest?
I'm getting started with home theater. I'm more focused on stereo and there is where I'm spending most of my money. So I'm thinking of buying a receiver and a speaker package (kind of those speaker packages in a box...yeah...I know). I know down the road I'll upgrade the speakers, but they won't be super speakers anyway. Then, my dvd player is a mass market Toshiba thingy...not a videophile unit. So a super receiver (let alone separates) will have limited return...but can allow for nicer upgrade path...and for the same price I can buy a middle of the road new one or a nicer used one.
