IN the transport this weekend,
Albert King and Stevie Ray Vaughn, SACD hybrid with CD layer, from Canadian TV 1983 sessions; if you're a blues player or fan, this is an interesting "joint" project, with good synergy and respectful playing.
Also in the guitar madness mode, The Steve Morse Band, "Structural Damage". If you're a Dixie Dregs fan, you'll know what this is all about, David La Rue also plays and produces; it's the typical (excellent) Steve Morse compositions with tuneful pop hooked metal guitar, alternated with barogue influenced guitar synthesizer. If you've never heard of Steve Morse or the Dixie Dreggs, think Eric Johnson with more virtuosity, tunefullness, and a far wider compositional palette. Steve Morse is probably the most technically accomplished guitarist on the planet- for those of you with other favorites, don't feel this is a put down- it's just that he's at a level of physical and compositional virtuosity that even puts guys like Al DiMeola to shame. IMO.
