Now this should be nice listening...

    I picked this up today:

    REMEMBERING PATSY CLINE

Contents: I Fall To Pieces ( Natalie Cole )
Why Can't He Be You ( Norah Jones )
Back In Baby's Arms ( Amy Grant )
    Crazy ( Diana Krall )
    Strange ( Michelle Branch )
She"s Got You ( Lee Ann Womack )
Leavin' On Your Mind ( K.D. Lang )
Walkin' After Midnight ( Terri Clark )
You're Stronger Than Me ( Rebecca Lynn Howard )
Faded Love ( Patty Griffin )
So Wrong ( Jessi Alexander )
Sweet Dreams ( Martina McBride )

Patsy Cline was a terrific country/ pop artist whose material was often in the blues vein. I think it is fitting that this remembrance album features artists from jazz, blues, pop and country. I haven't played it yet, but I know it will be a good one.

Okay, I gave this a spin last night.

Well this is a multi-flavored milkshake that includes jazz, blues, pop, rock and country. And it will definitely put you in a mellow mood.

I pretty much liked it all with the exception of a couple of tracks I found just a little too country. When they bring on the fiddles, I usually leave.

I really loved NORAH JONES version of Why Can't He Be You, DIANA KRALL'S Crazy, K.D. LANG's take of Leavin' On Your Mind, and NATALIE COLE's I Fall To Pieces.

I was a huge Patsy Cline fan and own a lot of her albums. I have her own version of every song on this tribute cd, and it was interesting to hear other other female singers, of various musical backgrounds, doing her material.

If you knew of, liked or loved Patsy Cline's work, you will like this tribute effort. I will be playing this often.

The last couple of years I have been trying to trace the origins of rock and roll and gathering up the "essential" albums while they can still be found.
Mostly I had worked my way back through the roots in the blues and gospel. The past few months I have been working my way back to...
