    I Got Your BluesMAN!

    Two words, one name:

    Jonny Lang

This youngster is a blues killer, guitar wizard - no fooling. He has two CD's out and the first, Lie To Me is the better of the two in my opinion. It's just down 'n dirty, gnarly guitar blues in the Stevie Ray Vaughn vein. He was only 17 when I first heard him about 3 years ago, and have followed him since. The second CD is Wander This World. It's a more vocal laden, laid back disc - it's not bad at all, but that first CD . . . oh my!

    Check 'em out.

Well by my calculations he was 14 when he recorded "Smokin"

If he was 16 on his 1997 major label debut, he was 14 on the 1995 Smokin' release.

I hope you guys find "Smokin" 'cause you won't believe that a kid is playing and singing.
Myself, I think Smokin' is his best album.

I struck out at Wherehouse and BestBuy. Next stop is Music Boulevard. They'll generally have anything that's available.

Looks like CDNow bought out Music Boulevard. They did have the disc though! :T

              New Jonny Lang?
              by David Meek

Hi y'all. Has anyone picked up on the new Jonny Lang offering - Long Time Coming? I've got Lie To Me, Wander This World and Smokin' and was wondering if this new one is more like Lie To Me (I hope) or Wander (hope not)?

              Speaking of Blues.....

I guess I am very late to this party, but just in case I am not alone. I found (litteraly) a copy of Jonny Lang's Lie to Me (1997). Man oh man this is some good Blues. According to my Windows Media Player it is rock, and it is in a way, but more Blues. This disk...

I suppose Chris Layton and Tommy Shannon became tired of sitting around one day and decided to record their own album. It's not like Double Trouble hasn't had their fair share of success. First Stevie Ray Vaughan, then the Arc Angels, and finally Storyville. It seems they have Midas' touch.

Ministry of Fear--a Fritz Lang classic worth watching
              by Ovation
A quick note (time for bed). Lang's Ministry of Fear is a wartime film (1944) that features a story that, on the surface, resembles many films from the era--innocent man caught up in potential Nazi spying incident. However, as ever with Lang, not all is as it seems. It's not really a mystery thriller...
