    Work tunage???

My sweeties off on a little vacation to her home city (Boston) So this means the chores are up to My daughter and myself, tonight I had some arranging and vacuming to do...my choice of work music was: the Cult's new CD...Disturbed's new and first CD...Tool's new CD...and Red Planet soundtrack. Some of this is very heady metal!
What do you listen to when you gotta work?

Kenny, go for the new Tool disc.
If you like A Perfect Circle (I know you do) you will like the new Tool.

Oh yeah I did, all those were in my 5 disc changer at once...I know, it's dangerous to play that much metal at once, but I don't listen to it as loud as I once did. This help keep most of my brain cells in tact.

Metal dome should always go with metal cone? Is this a rule?
        by Jay_WJ
Should a metal dome always go with only a metal cone? Is this a rule? Or a misconception?

For example, is the Seas 27TBFC/G metal-like sounding? So should it always be better matched with a metal cone in a 2-way design? How about matching the 27TBFC/G with the Peerless 7" HDS Nomex...

        Paper vs metal cone
        by tcpip
Sorry if this topic has been discussed here -- please point me to it?

I'm asking about an age-old topic, but I am still trying to understand it. How does the cone material impact the sound, in general, for a midrange or midbass driver?

I used to believe that "given all...

Can you "hear" the difference between poly, paper, etc. and metal?

        Hi all!

This is going to be a controversial post (or not!) but I was wondering.

I had for more than a year an all-metal speaker at home, with a Duelund-style crossover, using the Dayton RS180, RS52 and a Vifa metal dome.

I gave the speakers away to my sister,...

        Convergence Tool???
        by David Meek
I was browsing another forum - yes, sacriledge, I know - and came across this "tool" for adjusting convergence more easily and accurately. What do you think? Bully or bulls#%*!?

        Convergence Tool

I don't see exactly how it works, but am interested. . . . You know

        Problems with metal domes
        by kgveteran
What do you think (oh, great XO designers) would make a metal dome tweeter sound bad ?

Besides a bad sounding dome to begin with, is there a XO "no-no" to look for when looking over two or three designers.

I have liked textile domes and soft domes since I began...
