An Offer You Can't Refuse - Redux

Based on the comments and suggestions I received from many HTguide members I have completed work on the next seven titles in the Naxos Musical Journey Series. These titles include some features not found on previous releases in the series including an informational subtitle track, and a slightly modified menu system.

This week I received 10 copies of the check discs for each title from our replication facility. The check discs for each title are fine so we are going to start the replication run for each title next week.

As a small token of thanks to HTGuide members I would like to make available the extra copies of these check discs at no charge to anyone who would like to get one. You can visit my website at www.alphadvd.com to see a complete listing of the new titles (they all say coming in July 2001). Once you decide which one you want just drop me an email with your mailing address and I will send it out via the cheapest method possible.

For those of you who are not familiar with a DVD check disc it is identical to a final production disc as far as the data is concerned, but does not include a color disc label or package.

Thanks to everyone who provided suggestions on the previous Naxos titles, as well as to everyone on HTguide who offered to be part of the evaluation program.

Hi everyone:

Our T1 connection to the Internet has been down for the last three hours or so. The phone company is working on the problem and expect to fix it in the next 2 hours.

Sorry if you cant get to my website right now, but I am sure by this evening it will all be working again.

I have 8 check disc copies of the following titles that I am giving away.

I think to start I should place a limit of one disc per HTGuide member. If I have discs left over after everyone who wants one has gotten theirs, then I will accept additional requests.

Please just email me the disc you want (provide a second and 3rd choice in case I am out of your first choice), and your mailing address and I will send it out to you via first class mail.

I will be on vacation next week so any requests that come in after Monday morning wont get sent out until Friday.

I am back from vacation and our T1 line appears stable again. It was down for several days while I was away.

I have sent out the requested copies of the check discs to everyone who has sent me an email. I still have quite a few copies left so if anyone wants a copy of more than one title just let me know and I will mail them out.

Guys, being someone who knows nothing about classical music, I've stayed away...but...
I do know one thing about it, I like the fire of the Russian composers. Can you suggest something a rocker would enjoy. ( in the last 15 years I found it easy to enjoy good sounds on a high end system.)

Hopefully everyone who really wanted one of these discs has gotten one. I have sent out all 56 copies of the discs I had to give away, and so far only two people who asked for one did not get one.

For those of you who did not get a copy I am sorry, but I did only have a limited number of discs to give away. I will plan on doing this again with the extra check discs for the next set of Naxos title, due out in about 3 months. These will be:

Great Ralph, and here I was gonna ask for a second one. lol. JK.

Looks like the email flat out worked. Response hadn't been so good before. Next time, as long as Ralph is ok with it, I would like to do this- The offer will first be posted here in "in tune", and remain here for about a week. Next, the offer gets moved to the Chalet, and stays there for about a week. At the end of two weeks the email goes out.

I didn't really think about this until after the email offer had been sent. But this rewards folks that check in daily before it rewards someone that is a member, but doesn't evern come and participate.

Ralph, I have really enjoyed mine, but plan to enjoy it some more real soon! Sorry folks that didn't get in on the offer. But of course, there has to be lines drawn, and when they are gone they are gone.

So, it pays to check in frequently, ey? :B Also, remember, you have a chance to register for similar selections each month that Alpha advertises with the Guide.

I recived then on Friday and have played the Beethoven Symphony #3 Erotica.

The Paris journey was fantastic, it's as if I had actually traveled there after seeing this DVD.

The sound was very nice, I'm not a Classic music buff by any sence, but I do enjoy it and recognize the more common pieces. This one was very enjoyable.

My wife Christine mentioned to me how much she likes these DVD's. Trevor Schell had given me his Grieg Norwegian DVD and she loved that one. Her parents are from Norway and it was a treat to show it to them.

As I've said to Ralph in an email, the quality of my DVD - both sound and video - is awesome. The classical music is breathtaking. I happened to get one with DTS and am completely enjoying it.

Obviously AlphaDVD does great work!
