Let me start by giving you my musical back ground. I started listening to music at the age of 11, that's when I got my first stereo, we used to go to CBS's pressing plant every saturday and buy LP's for a buck each, I started with "the Ventures", the Beatles, David Clark five, etc, in my teens it was the 70's, I never listened to radio, none of my friends did, we were into Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Frank Zappa, Led Zep, you know these bands, I played a 66 Fender Mustang at this time (still own the guitar) the 80's stank, I don't have much music from that time, but I did work for a friend in the professional sound and lighting bizz, I've run the sound board for the Tubes, Robin Trower (a hero of mine) Mega Deth, and others.
The 90's have been great! I listen to most anything, and have an 18 year old daughter that helps in that area.
So, on to the sub bust, ever hear of a band called "Soul Coughing", the CD is titled "El Oso".
Very different sounding, not your normal rock sound, quirkie is all that comes to mind, their very hard to discribe.
Take a listen to "misinformed" or "st. louise is listening", the bass it well defined, and runs down to around 25hz. (a guess)
Throughout the disc the bass is deep and heavy, but not at the expense of a balanced sound.
