Expensive Sony (Japan) SACDs

I was just browsing Acoustic Sounds website looking for Miles Davis SACDs and saw that many of the titles were very expensive. Most of these are listed at $40 and some as high as $50 for a single layer SACD! All of the expensive ones are being sold by Sony (Japan). Does anybody know what the deal is here? Why are these titles so expensive? I've heard very good things about the quality of these SACDs, but the cost is outrageous--at least to me.

they are the best quality made, i have several, they are worth it

Hmmm... what are these discs? Any of actual good music worth buying, i.e., not just for the audio quality?

Normal CDs are often $25-30 in Japan, so that pricing is not really out of line.
