Damn, I don't know how much stock to put in that right off. hmmmm.

My only explanation would be one of two things.

    1. Harman is taking the production overseas of all products.
    2. the economy has caused them to hit the skids big time.

Damn I hate to hear this.

Officially, here is the deal on Harman, Madrigal.

Madrigal Audio was closed and around 100 employees laid off. Proceed brand has been phased out. Mark Levinson, and Revel speaker production has been moved to the Lexicon manufacturing facility. A new division of Harman has been established called "Harman Specialty Group". The division is responsible for Lexicon, Mark Levinson, and Revel speakers, perhaps something else, not certain on that.

I suppose economy of scale production prompted this move. Unfortunate for the people of Madrigal Audio, who now have but a place in Audio history as the company that first took over Mark Levinson from "the man", only to be taken over by Harman, who in the end made Madrigal pay the ultimate price for selling out to them in the first place.

That's sad. It seems to me that bean-counters and marketers don't have a sense of history or continuity.

Madrigal merging what's good about Proceed with Mark Levinson
          by Lex
It is with a heavy heart, that I break the news that Proceed Audio as we know it now, will cease to exist sometime this fall. It is important that we tell you about this, so you don't run out and buy an AVP 2 or something like that.

I really don't understand this after rereading. Apparently...

Conversation with Todd Sutherland of Madrigal
          by greynolds
I had a brief exchange of emails with Todd Sutherland of Madrigal today about the future of the AVP. I asked Todd if it would be OK to copy our conversation to this group - he said sure. Note that he was still at work at nearly 8PM tonight (when I received his last response), so he's certainly a dedicated...

          Madrigal responds to 24/96 delays

Todd Sutherland was gratious enough to handle explaining Madrigal's explanation of this, and very promptly I might add. He preferred this method, because he said just wouldn't have time to address the issue personally posting and reposting.

          Hope this helps Clyde.
