Anyone got any poop on the new Yamaha YST-SW1500 sub?

So new it's not on the North American website but it is in their fall 2002 product catalog. Has anyone heard this sub and care to share?

    12" sub, 1000w amp (similar to the 10" yst-sw800).

I understand it's built with a remote....maybe this is the future for dialing in subs. It would be interesting if that idea took off.

I expect that this feature will become more and more common on quality subs. The one that came with my Velodyne FSR-18 sure can be handy -- makes it a lot easier to adjust the sub level for source on the fly (CD reduce / DVD boost) without having to go to the sub itself or tinker with the receiver or pre/pro's speaker setup menus. (Although my current pre/pro has a remote controlled channel-by-channel volume-trim-on-the-fly feature that also works quite well. )

there's a few plate amps available to DIYer's that come with a remote so it could catch on eventually with the DIY crowd as well

Sorry Gordon, haven't heard a peep about the new Yammie.

My Velodyne FSR-15 has a remote also and it is as handy as can be - per Burke's comments. I wouldn't be without one from now on. :T

Yamaha isn't exactly known for subs, are they? I can only recall having seen the itty bitty subs that come with their micro systems. A 1000 watt sub sounds like the real deal though.

I wonder, does someone make it for them?
