    New speaker cable prototype

I am introducing a new speaker wire at QuantumCable.com very soon. just wanted to give you two channel folks a gander at it. Pretty sweet too.

The name is still in flux, but the product is a seductively sweet, a sweet 16 stranded delight to be exact. 8 silver 22 AWG strands, and 8 HCOF 22 AWG copper strands, braided together in a delightfully colorful twist.

Check em out. If you asked how much, well, might want to not ask.

The working name that you've given it, "still in flux", has a nice ring to it... rhymes with "ultra-big bux"... :>)

      Hi Lex,

Looks nice, are they braided like 8TC for low inductance? What's the inductance and resistance per foot?

      Best regards,

      Jon

Lex, as far as a name, how about Dark Star (seriously) or if you want to be cute, Physics, get it?

Jon, I thought I posted a reply long ago, not sure what happened on that. Yes, they are braided in a 16 wire configuration. Having just been looking at some Kimber wire online, I can say that they are very similarly braided. So much so, glad I am not the manufacturer, lol.

As to inductance and resistance. I really need to get better educated in this area. Maybe someday.... Very detailed, airy, and sweet in my system. Not even conditioned yet with my cooker.

David, interesting name, I will put that in the mill.

                      Flux Density

Flux density refers to the strength of the magnetic field within the magnetic circuit of a loudspeaker driver. It is a crucial parameter that significantly influences the driver's performance, efficiency, and overall sound quality. The magnetic field in a loudspeaker driver is created by a permanent magnet or an electromagnet (voice coil) interacting with the ferromagnetic material of the driver's magnetic circuit. Flux density is a measure of the magnetic field strength,...

                      Flux Modulation

Flux modulation, also known as magnetic flux modulation or magnetic field modulation, is a technique used in loudspeaker design to control and manipulate the magnetic field strength within a driver's magnetic circuit. It involves intentionally varying the magnetic flux density in a controlled manner to achieve specific performance characteristics and improve the overall sound quality. The process of flux modulation typically involves the application of an additional...

Does anyone have experience with the 10 awg or 12 awg air core inductors from Solen? I am wondering if they are a good substitute for foil inductors, as the resistance is about the same. Also, they are a little cheaper. I've personally iused an air core inductor larger than 14 awg. I've always used...
