pay attention when some one who knows what the hell they are talking about is trying to help you!
Kal Rubinson just did a review on some 3 ch amps in this month's issue of Stereophile.
in the article, one of the units evaluated is the Monoprice Monolith 3x200 wpc unit.
it is given V high praise indeed for its presentation of music when compared to some pretty big heavy-hitters like the new Classé Sigma Mono ($8000/pair).
& so you say,
"ok, that is nice.
there are a lot of V good amps out there that i can not afford.
on top of that, what good is a spare channel when all i want is an amp for my 2ch stereo? "
well, if you take the time to examine their offerings, you will find a wide array of available options.

my take-away from Kal's article is that we have an amp of value & quality the likes of which have not been seen since the original Rotel RB-1090 at half its original price back in 2000.
if anyone is looking for a high-value, 2 ch amp as a starting point or upgrade to their system at < $1000, (or any other configuration inclusive of 2, 3, 5 or 7 channel), i would encourage with both the swiftness & stiffness of a weapon's-grade uranium-powered kick in the bollocks that one take Kal's impressions seriously.
