I've been considering a smartphone upgrade, and while I like my old iPhone well enough, there are many reasons I don't prefer Apple - primarily due to their proprietary nature. The other day I read that the Samsung Galaxy supports FLAC music, which seems like a huge advantage to someone who appreciates quality music reproduction. I store all of my music in FLAC, and previously had to keep a separate copy of everything in MP3 to play on my Apple devices. This support would eliminate that step, which would be great.
Anyone using this device that can comment on its FLAC support/audio quality? I also read that it uses a Wolfson DAC, but I cannot verify whether this is the European model only, or also the U.S. model.
