I have a pair of Dali Lektor 3 bookshelf speakers that I absolutely love. I also have a 1974 Marantz 2240, and a Yamaha HTR 6090 just lying around. So I'm wondering which one you think would handle these speakers better?

I can understand why you feel the way you do about the Dali’s.
AFA which source to use, try them both and decide which you prefer.
If you like the Marantz, consider having it restored. A good cleaning, capacitor replacement and tuning would bring it back to ‘as new’ condition for minimal investment if you have access to a competent technician. -
I actually prefer them to my B&W 602S1's. They just have this amazing midrange and transparent quality. They literally disappear and all you hear is the music not the speaker.Comment

Does anybody have any experience with Dali Helicon 400 or 800 speakers and Rotel gear? I own an RB-1080 amp, RC-1070 pre-amp, and RCD-1072 cd player.
