    My $50 sound improvement

    I bought a used Behringer Ultramatch Pro SRC2496 to integrate it to my system's chain:

    Sony S7000 (transport) -> SRC2496 (upsampling) -> LITE DAC AM Supreme EX edition -> Preamp -> Parasound A21 -> ATC SCM7 II.

    I can say, that is the most significant and noticeable $50 upgrade that I made in my system. I changed cables (spkr, rca, xlr, coax) in the past to get somehow a little upgrade and those are like 5X or more. But no audible upgrade I can fully back up.

    NOT ON THIS ONE! If your set up is similar to mine, this "additional gear" will bring your whole system to a higher level.

        My musical fidelity a324 dac does the upsampling itself so apparently I don't need this tweak :roll:

          Most new high end DAC and CDP has "upsampling" capability. If your CDP or DAC is capable upsampler, you don't need this. Unfortunately, mine is just a basic DAC and adding this makes everything "new".

            What is the best bang for buck upgrade one can make?
            by P-Dub
            Okay, here's some basic assumptions on the minimum type of HT setup.

            1. Have 5 speakers. I know some don't but if you want the full HT exeperience get those speakers.
            2. Have a sub. Any sub regardless of performance is better than no sub.
            3. Have a receiver that decodes...
