hehe now I wish I owned pajamas like those ! hehe

seriously if you have seen these they are quite awesome looking. Heard dave bruebecks take 5 on vinyl through a local pre feeding a coupel of the halcro mono blocs coupled to a pair of very nice canadians and boy it sent a shiver up my spine ! quite awesome !

I'll give them this much... they are quite interesting to look at. I heard them at an audio show with matching pre amp & DCS source driving a pair of Vivids.

Didn't like them that much... too much "Hi Fi", too little music... if you know what I mean. But, that said... some guys like that sort of sound.

Having said that....I have no idea how they sound.

If we have a dealer in Brisbane they are well hidden. I want to hear their digital amps as apparently they have the disortion issue licked with some patented solution that i guess you will not find on the Rotels. I am referring to their home theater line Halcro Logic, not the cost is no option beasties. The two channel digital amps go for about the same price as a Mac ....er is it 252... the 250 watt power amp anyway.

I've never heard them, but the reviews etc. claim them to be great. Love the look of them though. I also like the look of the Goldmund monoblocks. At this price range, looking is probably all I'll get to do.

Alloroc, they have some pretty funny ones on there. A few months back there was a sub that puts out something like a million watts. Also acts as a stove or something...ha ha ha

Well, I wouldn't go THAT far.

"Cat's Pajamas"? Hmmm.... maybe instead, the "Bee's Knees?"

Personally I can't imagine any amps worth what they charge. The fact that there's people who can argue that all amps sound the same says how much difference there is between ss amps. It's subtle and it's not worth that much money even if you're rich imo.

Well that would be the subject for some debate. I heard the Halco monoblocks at the 2006 RMAF. They sounded very good but they weren't driving particularily revealing or demanding speakers. So until proven otherwise, I'll give my nod for "worlds best" to the Boulder 2050 monoblocks. I've heard these on more than one occasion and they never fail to impress regardless of the speaker on the receiving end of their output.....At $150,000/per pair, both the price and the performance are literally astounding.....

I must agree with Thomas. Boulder 2050 is one amazing amp! It is the only one that I know of that does 0.0005% of THD+N at all frequencies and reasonable power levels. How do they do it without any feed-forward set-up, - I have no idea. I think each voltage stage uses its own feedback, so there is no overall feedback. Anyway, no wonder it 'sounds' as good as it does. Also a true balanced topology does not hurt either.
