question on finishing

Might be similar to when one "veneers" a cabinet with high pressure laminate (formica), it does deaden the enclosure walls significantly. Of course, it would also be possible to just use a very thin layer/skin, and that might not have much impact- but it certainly won't hurt anything.

Applying a very strong shell to your cabinets will make the cabinets much stiffer. I can only think it will be beneficial to reduce cabinet resonances.

question on finishing
long time reader first post. started building the statement series for theater use. never built before and has been fun and enjoyable for far.
so for finishing i had considered wrapping in carbon fiber. the real stuff not 3m di-noc. would the lyers of resin have any effect on the sound of the cabinets? thanks for any help
